Announcing: Summer 2025 FUN with PRIZES! 😱
Summer 2025 is upon us – how are you feeling about it?
Do you have school-aged children counting down the days until they can sleep in till 9AM (and beyond) and don’t have to rush out of pjs? Or is summer for you the season of warmer weather and more daylight? However it looks for you, I think you’ll enjoy this super exciting activity I am curating this summer, to make documenting the days more mindful and intentional.

Introducing the Summer 2025 Photo Scavenger Hunt – are you in?
First things first – save your handy-dandy Scavenger Photo Hunt prompt list NOW:

You’ll notice the handout has 31 prompts and all you’ll need to do over the next few weeks is keep your eyes peeled and creativity peaked to capture those items.
One prompt = one photo.
I know, I’m gutted for you that you won’t be able to use a photo of your favorite ice cream for both – ‘melting’ and ‘delicious’, but hey, more fun for us, right? ;)
You don’t have to get too specific, I love creativity and embrace the mess. So, for the prompt of ‘beasties’, I’ll leave it up to you if you’re gonna send in a snap of ladybugs or your children :)

Here is the lowdown:
31 summery prompts (for 31 days in July, though there is no restriction on how many images you take per day, I just thought it was a cute way to limit myself, before I ended up at a 100!)
Snap away and share your images in Comments under this blog post with a caption of which Scavenger prompt you’re sharing. There is no restriction on how often you post – you can do one a day or catch up and post 6 at a time. Only one photo per prompt and one prompt per photo ;)
If you are on Instagram, be sure to follow me – I’ll be (trying hard to) share one of mine each day in July (it’s the challenge I’m setting myself 💪) and will happily share your images in my Stories, if you are happy for me to do so.
You can join in at any time - you don't have to be here on July 1st SHARP, though, the sooner you get onboard, the better, as you can spread out the challenge and enjoy it more
The rules are sparse and simple: 1. ALL images you share MUST be taken by you and during the running of this challenge (no Euro 2024 snaps please!) 2. No restriction on what tech you use to snap these – your smart phone, ‘big girl camera’ or a film camera – I want it all 3. have fun!
And to clarify - this activity is NOT just for people with children, or people with young children, or people travelling abroad - to sunny locations, or people who live in Scotland, or people with 'fancy' cameras, or anyone specific, really.
If you want to do something for YOU, to run alongside your summer, to capture your summery days with intention and focus and to curate a gallery of images you can look through and remember the moments, then this activity is for YOU.

Now here’s an exciting thing – there will be prizes for those playing along!
PRIZE 1: Share 20+ Scavenger items and win a 3 hour Beginner’s Photo Lesson with me (this will be a group lesson, unless only one participant can crack 20 prompts 😂). The lesson will be held in Aberdeen/shire; will break down jargon, focus on getting you more familiar and confident with how your camera works and cover key considerations for taking images you love (with hands on practice!). This prize is worth £99 per space.
PRIZE 2: Everyone who shares 20+ Scavenger shots will be placed in a draw to win a mini family photoshoot with me at either my Summer (August) or Autumn (October) minis, worth £149!
For everyone taking part (absolutely everyone) there will be a special offer revealed at the end of the challenge too!
Sorry, but no cash alternative to the above prizes will be offered :)
The final day for submitting images will be Sunday, 10th of August, hopefully giving you plenty time to get organised and catch up with the list.

The main goal of the Scavenger Photo Hunt is to get a bit more international and creative with how we capture our summers. In the age of smart phones, we have a camera at our fingertips nearly 24/7 and most of us are probably guilty of being snap-happy. But how often do we curate the snaps and pick out our favorites?
Let’s do this together, focusing a bit more on what’s around and getting creative with how we see things too.
Here are a few tips from me on how you can make the challenge work and serve you best:
📸 experiment. Take the opportunity to grow with this challenge - take photos from above, from below, play with light and shadow - then pick your favorite and share!
📸 get in the frame. Yes, really, make this your opportunity to show up in your photos - set the timer and snap away - just you and beautiful nature, just you doing your favorite thing, you and your favorite people or pet - just get in that frame!
📸 don't overthink it. Overthinking can be the worst hinderance to growth. When it comes to this activtiy, let your creativity and intuition guide you. If you see a prompt like this in the moment, snap it, edit, if needed and share. Don't let doubt and perfectionism hold you back.

I don’t know about you, but I am EXCITED! Are you in?
Your To Do List:
Save the Summer 2025 Photo Scavenger Hunt prompt list (I added it again below)

Wipe down your lens and snap!
