How are we all doing?
I don't know about you, but summer's seriously got me beat!
On one hand, hasn't the weather been epic in Aberdeen (for a day or two - but we'll take it!) and isn't it lovely to see the restrictions in Scotland melting away?...
But on the other hand, I'm suffering from a serious case of over-planning and underestimating - where I had so many things on my mental To Do list over the summer and almost forgetting how busy these few weeks/months get.
With everything that has been going on, I haven't had a chance to share some very beautiful family photo sessions I’ve had the absolute honor of photographing in the recent months!
As lockdown restrictions in Scotland started easing, I noticed a bit of trend in people enquiring about FAMILY sessions - ‘erm, you’re a FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER, Iana!’ - some of you may think, but what I mean by this, is somehow EXTRA 'family'. Things like gift vouchers - to gift to grandparents and siblings, extended family shoots and in-home sessions.
I am honestly seeing so much more conversation about documenting things just as they are right now and appreciating the time, the places and the people that are around us, making our lives as special and beautiful as they are.

So the family session I will share with you today was a first birthday celebration shoot, taking place in a lovely countryside home of this family, just south of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire.
Jenna reached out to me to ask me to photograph them in their home and garden - as a way of marking one of their daughters turning that special age of one and it was my absolute pleasure meeting this wonderful family.
From start to finish, providing the service to them was just pure joy and pleasure and I truly hope to work with them again - thank you for having me create such special keepsakes of your little ladies and you!
